BOLT^™ stabilized urea has a positive impact on surface applied nitrogen. BOLT^™ contains a urease inhibitor (NBPT) reducing atmospheric volatilization.

The urease inhibitor in BOLT^™ gives urea above ground protection. This is done by inhibiting the urease enzyme that transforms the urea into an ammonia form. When urea is transformed, it is easily dispersed into the atmosphere through volatilization. BOLT^™ delays this process leaving more urea nitrogen in the soil for plant uptake.
